Getaway to Los Angeles

Last week, I went to LA, and hang out with HAM, a closest friend of mine. =D He looks he's been doing well~ even though this is his first semester. I think it's because he had been living in US for 6 years. =P

LA was a beautiful city, especially the weather was really nice. The weather in NY is... kind of bad... specially in winter... I think you don't want to come to NY in winter... it's really really COLD here.

I stayed for 3 days in LA, and since HAM rented a car (thanks a lot!!!) and he drove it, it was really easy to look around. On the first day when I met him, I was in OC for the interview with LG, but I didn't really focus on the interview... all I was thinking back then was anything except the interview. =D kk~ anyway, my interview finished around 3pm, so after that, we went to Newport beach where the famous drama, The O.C. was shooted. That beach was really nice... I really liked that, the stores along the beach were kind of ghetto, though. We also went to Laguna beach, small one comparing to Newport beach, but it was kind of fancy. =D

pant, pant... to make this long story short, let me list what I did in LA: went to Beverly Hills, Korea town, USC, UCLA, and Ghetty center. Personally, I really liked the Ghetty center. If you guys have a chance to go to LA, you should try that place. It was really awesome. Becerly Hills seemed really good for crazy shopper, but all things in that district were really expensive, so not good for me. sad... T_T

UCLA was really nice. They have a lot bigger campus than Columbia, and the campus was really clean. I envy you, HAM... you are in a really good place, you should take an advantage of it. USC, howevever, disappointed me. I don't think their campus is nice... maybe it's because I went there after I looked around UCLA... but, anyway... I think that I expected too much... haha =0=

so... this is pretty much of it. hooah~

QUOTE

"Live as if you have nothing to lose-"

I'm always worrying about losing something... that's what makes me hesitate, and be afraid of something. But... what do I have? Do I really have something to lose? my score? relationship with others?

All I have belong to my lord, God, so I don't have to be afraid of anything. I should just keep going, and get what I have to get. That's that simple-

Remember this, and just trust in God. I can do anything, and there is nothing to be afraid of.

YOSHIMOTO NARA

Yoshimoto Nara... recently I got a chance to see some of his works and I really liked them. His works look like just cute illustrations, but they have something special. I don't know how to explain that, though.

Anyway... I like his works. =D
If you wanna see something more, please visit the following page. I think that site is cool.

Peaceful afternoon time on Sunday, sitting on the main stairs made me realize that I'm still in school. It's good to get some rest like that. =D

Asia de Cuba

On the last Friday, I went to Asia de Cuba, a famous restaurant in NYC. Before I went there, a friend of mine told me that their foods are not that good, but I think they are better than OK. Each dish is pretty big, so I think it'd be better to share everything. I and my friend ordered 1 salad, 1 entree, and 1 side. We left most of the side, and the half of the entree since they were too much for us. (I originally ordered salad and entree, but the waiter told me that might be small, so I got the side, but it was totally unnecessary... -_-) Anyway, the foods were good.

I think 'Asis de Cuba' might be good for dating. It's kind of small, but romantic, and somewhat fancy, so if you go there with significant someone, you could make a good impression.

For the rating, I can give 3.5 out of 5.

WHAT DO I WANT TO DO?

These days, I feel like I don't even know what I wanna do. When I was in college, I was always dreaming about my future, but in that future, I always omitted something: what kind of person do I wanna be? The only thing that I thought at that time was my career, my job, money...

Recently, I kind of feel like that I realized something really important: I have to concern about other things, not just money, job, or my career... THIS MOMENT. I can't live my life again. This moment is just one-time only. Once you passed some point of your life, you can't go back and live it again, no matter how much money you have.

I do admire luxury life: well-paid job, well-fitted designer suit, super car... all about money. On the other hand, I do love hanging out, traveling to a new country without any plan, ... For some people, both of them are just kind of easy to get since his/her family is rich enough, so that he doesn't have to care about money, but I can't get both of them at the same time without some big luck. What I'm thinking these days is, if it's that hard to get both of them, which one would be the first priority in my life? For me, almost 50:50. Maybe I will choose one of them someday, but I don't wanna lose anyone of them. Is there any way that I can enjoy my life in my own way without any hard-working? maybe no... so sad... T_T

[Drama] Friday Night Lights

I haven't seen a drama for while. It's been almost 3-4 months... cause all dramas that I watch are not on air these days.

This "Friday Night Lights" is about FOOTBALL, America's most popular sports game-. I don't know anything about football, I've never seen even a single game, but I think I will have some interest on football because of this drama. I watched only one episode, the first one of season 1, but it looks really interesting. I kind of feel like I can understand why people are going crazy about football. It's just... so INTENSE... more than any other sports in the world. haha...

If you have some time to kill, try this one. I'm sure you gotta love this-. =D

LOVEly iPod!!

After the dinner, we went to Apple store in 5th Ave. I knew there were new iPod nano, classic, and touch, so I badly wanted to see them. Among them, I think the best one is the nano!!! Even though iPod touch is really cool, it doesn't seem that much worthwhile since there is iPhone which has all features of iPod touch and even more!! iPod nano now has 2.0" lcd and it also can play videos~!! and I really love the new interface~!! sooooooo cool!!! kk~

"LOVE" statue in the way to the Apple store.

"iPod nano", the best iPod~!!

Amy's Bread

With my twin sisters from Korea, I had a dinner, and went to the Amy's Bread, the most famous bakery in Hell's Kitchen area. I got one chocolate brownie, and it has lots of pecans in it. Tastes sooooooo GOOD!! =D kk~

This one is Teacher's College. I usually study in this building. Each chair in this library worthes more than $700!! (Not all of them, though)

NY yellow cab and Pupin building. (little bit of Shapiro building, too)
Pupin is a physics department's building, so it has nothing with me, but I like that one. =D
Shapiro is the one where I'm doing my research.

The chapel in the campus. Beautiful inside... =D

Googlers are all nerds?

haha... today there was a Google tech talk in my school. It was mostly about Google maps, but honestly, I fell asleep during the talk, so I don't really know what they said. :-(
Anyway, before we started the Google talk, Googlers gave us some snakcs, and one of them was the following one. Nerds? kkk... is this a snack for Nerds? then are we nerds? or did they just bring foods from their office? whatever... it's quite funny. =D
I really want to work in Google... that would be AWESOME!!!
